Nine Useful Tips for Your Business Strategy

A small business is even more dependent on social media than the large brands. Since you don't have huge advertising budgets, you need to get creative in order to make your posts go viral and attract new followers.

To build an effective social media strategy, you need to learn some tricks about the most popular platforms and use them to make people engage with your posts, bringing you the desired likes, shares, conversions and generating leads.

Your ultimate goal as a marketer is to generate more revenue, and in order to do that you need to boost your sales greatly. For a small business, building a strong Internet presence and promoting his or her brand in social media is the quickest and the most effective way to achieve the aforementioned ultimate goal.

Since social media become more and more popular every day - there are currently around 3,4 billion Internet users in the world, and 2,3 billion of those are active social media users - competition is huge. To gain the edge over your competitors, you are going to need some truly creative ideas that will help you stand out.

Take a look at these nine tips that may come in handy:

1. Grow your following

These Internet platforms are called social media for a reason: communication is the key here. Success is impossible without communication.

That means, if you want to boost your sales and get more revenue, you need to get people's trust first, establish yourself as an opinion leader.

If your potential customers trust you, it will be much easier to promote your products or services among them.

Also, the more followers you have, the wider your reach is, especially because now their followers will get to see your posts, too.

2. Turn offline relationships into online ones

The thing is, you already have a great deal of people who can be extremely useful for you in your quest of establishing strong social media presence.

You have business partners, loyal and satisfied customers and other people who could like and share your posts - and even testify for your products' quality if needed.

Also, their followers probably fall into your targeted audience, so you need to gain full and immediate access to them, too.

That's why you shouldn't hesitate to ask your partners and existing clients to connect with you on social - it can result in great benefit for all of you.

3. Connect with influencers

There are people in your niche whose words matter. Maybe they are the renowned experts or simply celebrities, that not so important.

What is important, though, is that they have lots of followers and have the power to make almost every post go viral by simply sharing it, adding a couple of kind words.

You definitely need those people on your side, so reach out to them  and try striking a deal. Most of the influencers who make their contacts available, have nothing against such plans, so don't be afraid.

4. Use social media management tools

Various online tools, many of which are free, can help you post simultaneously on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram while sipping tea and mellowing out.

They will also save you lots of time and efforts.

Start from Hooutsuite and then proceed to the more advanced social media management tools. If you are dealing with more than three accounts at once, perhaps it would be better for you to try the paid version of one of the programs, allowing to manage up to 80 accounts.

5. Keep your voice human

Because sounding like Arnold Schwarzenegger from Terminator is the worst thing that can happen to your brand.

While Arney was pretty cool in the movie, a brand needs to avoid sounding automated at all cost, or it will lose its popularity very quickly.

Add some personal voice, a pinch of humanity and humor. Tell people about your brand's mission, about the issues that truly touch you.

It will pay off.

6. Post unique content

You can't become successful if all that your doing is reposting some awesome posts by somebody else. You need to get creative.

Make sure your data are always useful or at least interesting for your targeted audience, and vary the types of content you create.

There are so many wonderful things to experiment with - from images to live videos. You need to try all of them to see, how will your followers engage with each of these posts.

7. Use bright visuals

Posts that contain the images get up to 30% more engagement, so it's a perfect way to attract the attention of your potential followers.

Remember to keep these images creative and unique, avoid plagiarizing at all cost - you don't need to ruin your reputation from the very beginning of the campaign (not to mention that stealing is immoral). Use your mind to invent something daring and new.

8. Ask for engagement

Yes , it's true: you can simply ask people to share or like your tweet or image. SOme of your followers will gladly doing.

Do not forget to like or follow back people who have supported you.

Also, do not overuse the #pleaseretweet hashtag. You don't want to look annoying, do you?

9. Think differently

Do not limit yourself to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Check out which social media work the best for you, with the help of the analytical data, and then focus your attention only on those platforms with the highest returns.
